Dr. Susan Abed sees herself as creating a legacy of smiles. An orthodontist who has been in practice for 19 years, she has offices in Brownstown Township and Hartland.
Dr. Abed strongly believes in the importance of screening young children for potential orthodontic problems; children should have their first orthodontist visit before age 7. That way, Dr. Abed is able to take advantage of the child's normal growth to adjust the teeth and jaw for proper alignment. "If you wait, it becomes a much more complicated problem involving pulling permanent teeth or doing surgery to correct it," she says.
Personal service is key to Dr. Abed. She makes a point of meeting with each patient herself and talking with them about their situation, so they can understand the problem and the course of treatment. She truly sees her work as a calling. "It's my passion," she says. "Creating a beautiful smile for a patient is very rewarding."
