Dr. Gamarra is a board-certified therapeutic gastroenterologist who understands the importance of caring for each patient as a unique individual.
“My aim is to tailor the utmost excellence of gastrointestinal care by utilizing the latest evidence-based medical and endoscopic treatments,” says Dr. Gamarra, who is board-certified by the ABIM in gastroenterology and hepatology.
Dr. Gamarra specializes in a number of different procedures including EGD, colonoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound, advanced ERCP, Barrett’s ablations, esophageal motility and pH studies, small bowel and colonic capsule endoscopy, endoscopic mucosal resection, and submucosal dissection. He has successfully completed ASGE STAR certifications in upper and lower endoscopic mucosal resection and endoscopic suturing.
An active teaching faculty member in the GI fellowship programs at Providence Hospital and William Beaumont Hospital, Dr. Gamarra graduated from the American University of the Caribbean in 2001 and completed his internal medicine residency and gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at Providence Hospital in Southfield.
He is a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American College of Physicians, and a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America.
