Down on the Farm

In July of 1825, John Dix, a retired sea captain from the east, raised the first frame barn built in Ann Arbor Township. 182 years later, this barn-red, Dixboro farmhouse — carefully restored by Ann Arbor-based Angelini and Associates Architects — retains the old-timey charm of the small town Dix settled before leaving for Texas in 1833.
