2009 Readers Choice Award

You can argue with the choices of our design awards judges, but you shouldn’t argue with yourself. So this year, we asked you to get opinionated and choose a favorite from the 19 best overall home entrants. You obliged and we have a winner. This contemporary home on Cass Lake designed by Bloomfield Hills-based AZD Associates and Thomas Sebold & Associates ran away with the top spot. Perhaps it was the unobstructed three-story views of the lake, the sculptural fireplace, the indoor waterfall, or the seamless use of glass, metal, stone, and wood. Whatever the case, it’s the undisputed winner of our first-ever readers choice award.
